Keane made a rod for his own back by stating he could win promotion in one season. Big mistake. Had the club announced that it had appointed Keane as part of a five-year plan to win promotion, it would have satisfied most fans. As it is Keane has put heaped unnecessary pressure on himself and on the team. This in turn has led to poor performances on the pitch, panic signings off it, and expectant fans are becoming inpatient. If I was Marcus Evans I would get Keane to sign a contract to keep him here for 5 years. This would relieve the pressure all round. |

Keane has a short memory. Stead was superb in Keane's first 3 games at the back end of last season. Before Keane let's him go, he should try Stead, Priskin & Counago up front. |

Why has Keane singled out the players that performed so badly on Saturday, when the players from the previous 3 games perfomed no better? Delaney for instance has been by far our worst performer this season, so has Keane got the balls to get shot of him? I doubt it. Neither presumably will Keane admit that Healy is way out of his depth and Lee Martin is no better than Luke Chadwick.
Some of Keane's behaviour reminds me of Brian Clough. No surprise there as Keane played for Clough and admired him. The thing about Clough was that he was brilliant yet unstable. Sadly, I'm beginning to wonder if Keane is just unstable, and if Keane does show Garvan the door, we'll have all the evidence needed to have him certified as a complete nutcase. |
