Keane Second Richest Boss Wednesday, 7th Oct 2009 12:16
Town manager Roy Keane has been named the second richest boss in English football in FourFourTwo’s annual Football Rich List. Only England manager Fabio Capello is more well-heeled than the Blues boss.
Keane’s fortune is estimated at £27 million in the FourFourTwo list, while Capello has amassed £30 million in his two decades in management.
Owner and chairman Marcus Evans is 19th in the overall Football Rich List with his wealth estimated at £400 million.

And he deserves every penny for the all the abuse he receives from the press and impatient (self confessed) supporters.

trulyblue ooooooohhhhhhh, oooooohhhhh, With £27m in the bank, nobody but nobody in football is worth that much & he has deserved all the critisism (not abuse, we should not be abusing our own)he has had, because as of yet he has not produced what he promised. It was he who said he could get us up in 1 season, then suddenly (even though he had been with the club several months) he wanted to tell us the size of the task was huge. Roy Keane is a BIG name in football, I agree, but in management terms he is a new boy and doesn't appear to have a full tool box of skills to manage with. If you're fed up with the critics I'm fed up with being bottom of the league and people blindly saying in Keane we trust!!!!!

in Keano we trust, one centre back, one attacking midfielder, one goalscorer, we are there, this league has not got skillfull overnight, a good team will go through the dross like a hot night through butter.

itfc1981 i agree to a degree, also whats the size of his bank acc got to do with anything, same as mine as a supporter - it does not matter one bit i do not care what money he has, a few people on here are just jealous idiots, who in there right minds doesn't try and get as much money as possible, bet you lot do the lottery !

So theoretical he has his own money for new signings, without relying upon M.E. for resources....

devontractor. I think you'll find there are alot of people in football with far more money than RK. He made that money over a 20 year playing career and a small proportion through management. Some players in the premier league are getting to that sum in a few years with the ridiculous wages and sponsorship top-ups!

Good on him. If people are going to pay that then he deserves to get it!

Exactly the kind of wealth the former Captain of Man Utd and ROI should have. Of course as soon as Beckham or Giggs or John Terry or Rio go into management Keane will be eclipsed in the blink of an eye.

Being well-heeled does not necessarily mean a lack of grit. ambition and hunger to succeed but this news does make you wonder, doesn't it?
the_beats_knees added 14:18 - Oct 7
Clearly he spends his own money much more wisely than the club's he's managed.

Exactly. He clearly wants to succeed and doesn't need to work. If only all the players were the same...
Marcus added 04:23 - Oct 8
4ever - I'm not sure I'd want a team of players who don't need to work! Money can be a great motivator. I still think that more players should be on performance based pay.
