Jamie Vardy from Fleetwood Town has just gone 25, I am also a follower of FC Halifax Town as I live there and Jamie was ours until about 6 months ago, he is fast, agile, dangerous and knows where the net is, definately worth a pop as he is a handful with bucket loads of confidence. |

just a slight point but the other day there were several people over the moon at being linked with jonathan woodgate who was involved in the very same incident with lee bowyer!!! He is a great player and i for one would welcome him as he is a completly different character to the man he was then. Also over the years had we been asked if we would like cantona, fowler,maradona we would have jumped at the chance yet they all assulted people or where linked with drug abuse, or how abut if joey barton was linked would we say no? I dont condone what he did but i think he has proven he is a better person and plays good football and surely thats what we need here? |

bobble - i'm more than happy to listen to another opinion hence my questions to him, however over a considerable time he doesn't offer opinions just abuse at anything the club does which becomes tiresome, i have no problem to someone disagreeing with decisions made by the club as we are guilty of that from time to time but back up your claims with constructive objections which lead to further discussions within the group, after all that it was a fan forum is about. With response to claims we are nasty and arrogant i feel you judge us quicker than we judge him which sits you under the very branch you hit us with, after all it's only an opinion. As i say i'd be happy to hear his honest opinions on who he believes we should sign. |

I'm intrigued Whoppit, you are clearly clueless when it comes to football and even moreso clearly not a really Town fan, however just for sh*ts and giggles do tell who exactly would you sign if you were the Town boss. It obvious you disagree with every player to pull on a Town shirt so you must have a wise and wonderful knowledge as to who we should sign, considering our realistic budgets etc, therefore don't come out with botty water about Messi, Ronaldo and Drogba but actual player we could sign. I think after all the nonesense you write on here we would all be very interested to hear your honest opinion of potential signings, thats presuming you have any trousers to back up your mouth?! |

Its understandable to see why some fans are negative we have underperformed over recent seasons, however that said if we consider that had we not given away so many late goals (barnsley at home for example) last season, and managed to turn a handful of draws into wins we would have been in the play offs if not the automatic places. This makes me think, although better players may be needed, it is small changes that need making not a huge overhaul. I believe that if we can have a happy dressing room with some experienced heads (ingermarsson, Chopra), with some good young flare (Wickham, Carson) we have every chance of reaching the play offs and dare I even say I would expect it. With a good run we could fair even better. I agree a new GK, an experienced, calm ball player in the centre and some tenacious talented youngster alongside will greatly strengthen our squad and clout in this league, so to invest in Koumas and to try take on loan a JJ Shelvey or player of similar ilk would be splendid, especially if someone of Scott Loach's or Andy Lonegan's stature is between the sticks.
As fans we need to get behind the boys from the off, make shed loads of noise, remain positive and do our part as I for one, am wholey confident this year could be our biggest push yet and something to get excited about. COYB |

currently available for free theres, marcus hahnemann, joe murphy, jason brown, richard kingson, paul rachubka and maik taylor so theres potential to get a good keeper cheap if we look in the right places, however if we are 'building' a new squad as it seems we are i would suggest spending on a top quality shot stopper lonegan springs to mind or david james perhaps, id even like to have a punt at someone like chris kirkland who isnt playing? |
