So the news keep telling us that The Queen is in good health
at 14:36 27 Mar 2020

A collective shrug, and perhaps a kind thought for an elderly woman who's lost her husband?

I certainly can't see any mass outpourings of grief!

Mike Ashley - damage limitation or genuine change of heart?
at 11:41 27 Mar 2020

Definite damage-limitation.

If any of what he said in his press release was true, he wouldn't have hiked prices the moment the lockdown was announced.

Apparently boris has the virus
at 11:39 27 Mar 2020

Sorry, if there are no tests available for those on the front-line, who are exposing themselves to the virus on a daily basis, often without sufficient PPE, there are definitely no tests available for politicians and the Royal Family.

I think there are arguments on both sides here.

Given the complete lack of testing, STILL, for front-line key-workers, the optics of it all are terrible.

If they were testing those in the NHS etc., then of course test those in Government as well, but until then we're all in it together.

Well that puts paid to the claims that Charles was only tested in line with NHS guidance.

Boris isn't (as far as we know) in any high risk groups, and was only showing mild symptoms.

Again, plenty of tests for the rich and famous, yet still none for those on the front lines.

Given that the support is going to be based on profits, isn't that precisely what he's done?

A few chickens finally coming home to roost there!

What's the betting we'll broadly do fine, but end up locked down for another month because a bunch of absolute jeb-ends decide to take liberties with the Easter weekend?

Which is the only English league football team to have a name which you cannot colour in any of the letters of?

Name the eight teams in the English and Scottish leagues whose names begin and end with the same letter.

Fill in the gap:
1979 - Sunderland
1980 -
1981 - Villa

Repopulate the leagues based on number of League Championships? European Trophies? England Managers? Or perhaps away wins against Bayern M√ľnchen...

A very small, very evil part of me is sort of hoping everything from the EPL down gets expunged (especially as it would give us another chance at going straight back up). But the realist within me knows the small pleasure of seeing Liverpool miss out again would be outweighed by the literal centuries of whinging about it.

Apparently 'mild symptoms' but still met the criteria for testing.

Chinny fecking reckon.

As usual, it seems those in certain positions and social strata aren't getting the message about tests not being available.

Absolutely no issue with the tax implications. More than happy that I'll still be paying tax on my 80% salary, and that I'd get no personal allowance on any second income. I just want to try and make sure that earning a few extra quid elsewhere won't preclude me from getting paid my other 80% by the government.

That's absolutely obscene.

I guess it's a question of how you set up and enforce such a scheme without having to spend a great deal of time and effort on the practicalities of it.

Problem is that anyone with low enough morals and enough time on their hands will always find a way to get around such restrictions.

So it seems like my employer is fine with it (and as has been pointed out, why wouldn't they be?) but it seems they're as in the dark as I am regarding how secondary employment might affect any entitlement to pay.

Any recommendations as to who to call/ask for clarity on this?

I've spoken with my employer, who has absolutely no issue with it. It's just a question of whether I'd be robbing Peter to pay Paul in terms of the financial aspect of it.

That said, potentially working F/T for my local ambulance trust would pay more than 80% of my current wage, so it might be beneficial either way.
