TWTD Questionnaire 2022/23 Q62 Where will the Blues finish in the Championship in 2023/24?
Town fans go into 2023/24 full of confidence in their side and their club as a whole with more than half believing that their team is in with a shout of the play-offs.
And why not? If Luton Town can reach the play-offs and win promotion to the Premier League, why not Ipswich Town? We'll be going into the season with an already strong squad presumably augmented by summer additions and a wage bill which is likely to be in excess of the Hatters'.
While the Championship looks likely to have a strong top end with Leeds, Leicester and Southampton dropping out of the Premier League, for the most part the division appears weaker than the one Town left in 2019. Luton weren't the only less fancied team to have an impressive 2022/23, Coventry were beaten in the play-off final and Millwall finished eighth.
Last season's League One play-off winners Sunderland were sixth, so there's nothing to say that Town can't challenge at the top end in their first season back.

Wouldve liked a "top half" option here, as whilst playoffs would be great, I think top half suggests a significantly better aim than 'mid-table', but it was either/or on those options. | | |
