On the topic of the most Overrated band ever - who's the most Underrated? on 20:38 - Nov 9 by BrixtonBlue
I loved that. Gorgeous breathy vocals. I'll have to check out more, cheers.
I'd never heard of them but I saw them support Django Django in NYC last month and they blew me away. The record company posted their brilliant debut LP on YouTube in April and still only 6K people have streamed it. Scandalously underrated!
As if the Pixies are underrated. on 22:11 - Nov 9 by Dyland
People seem to love them, for some reason :) The most underrated band ever is obvs none other than Tiger, arf -
Who didn't just record Born to be Wild and The Pusher. Can't find any HQ on YT. Quad erat fooking demonstrandum :)
Closer to home... the inimitable Steve Marriott's Small Faces.. though not sure they're underrated at all... but you started it with the Pixies, booop :
The Animals are the forgotten band from the 60s and 70s and were so much more than just House of the Rising Sun. Burdon's voice was incredible.
While the Cure are hardly underrated, I'm not sure why they're not everybody's favourite band from the 80s and 90s.
My music tastes changed a lot with my move out of the UK, but two artists who never got quite the fame they deserved because they died so young are Jeff Buckley and Lhasa de Sela.

Great thread.
Pixies is a good call.

The Cure are great because not only can they write brilliant catchy pop songs like Friday I'm In Love or In Between Days, they can also produce thought provoking albums like Pornography and Disintegration.

The Cure aren't "everybody's favourite band from the 80s and 90s" because there are at least two hundred better artists from this era

Well, how about that! :-) And your ava is good old Wolfie Smith of the Tooting Popular Front, which just happens to be where I was born!
Also, if you do listen to Radio Suffolk apart from the football stuff, Stephen Foster has been playing some stuff this week by TC&I, who are Colin Moulding and Terry Chambers from the original XTC line-up
I work split shifts and I start at six. First thing I do after lighting the oven is tune the radio into Foz. I'm currently playing a bit of Supertramp on Spotify on the back of something he played earlier today. Also, on the topic of music on Radio Suffolk,Bernie Keith's Rock 'n' Roll Heaven 6-8 Saturday night after the football is the best two hours of radio of the week.

Thunder
Should have been a much bigger band, but struggled when the grunge scene became huge. Danny Bowes is one of the best voices in rock.
Playing in Ipswich in February next year, always fantastic live. I am travelling from Gloucestershire to see them with my sister who is also a big fan. Good news is that they are playing on a Saturday night, and Town are also playing at home that day!
Bang average rock band at best. Although the singer has a good voice.
