I think they've all been told, but sometimes telling them doesn't mean it's done - i.e. we want to offer you something but will be in touch with agent and then it might not be what they wants vs you are being released. |  |

IIRC, they have to be told by a certain date don't they? It's then up the clubs when they release that information. |  |

Reading that does give you another rethink about footballers.
Obviously in the premiership, players 'should' be able to get by quite easily without a club if ever released (you'd think - although how many will adjust their lifestyle immediately is a worry) but anyone below that level is on borrowed time.
I'd hope our current crop of players get their £10, £20, £30k a week and can pocket a few hundred k in their bank over the next 12 months as a buffer, to invest or whatever...
Not like it's obvious for them to load up a pension either for tax purposes as they could well need cash as early as mid thirties when career could come to a halt (or earlier). Although obviously they can push trollies or whatever when they do finish, they're not scrapheap jobs lol
Don't get me wrong, even a middling champ player will earn more in a 15 year career than the average person in a lifetime, so they're not hard done by! |  | | |

They’re not mutually exclusive. I was at Hull, Coventry and PR last weekend and I spent the whole bank holiday weekend out enjoying it. And have been since, and will continue to. Not sure why it’s such a stretch for people to recognise that can be true, while at the same time finding the online abuse of our players at times this season to be regrettable.
What’s done is done. I think the most important thing is people learn from it as next season will likely see more occasions where we’re on the wrong end of a result, which has tended to be when the OTT criticism reared it’s head this year. | | | |

The standout negative here this season has been the continual slagging of individual players from individual posters. The pathetic nonsense posted against Jackson, Burns and Woolfie beggars belief when we've had such a fantastic two years. Whether it's trolling or lack of intelligence it doesn't really matter, it's tragic. |
