Keane Speculation Continues
Keane Speculation Continues
Tuesday, 30th Mar 2010 09:06

Speculation regarding Roy Keane’s future continues in this morning’s papers despite Simon Clegg’s backing of the Blues boss yesterday.

One report claims the squad find training under Keane’s assistant Tony Loughlan “tedious” and were less than impressed with the 90-minute lock-in after the defeat at Watford a fortnight ago.

In the same report, an unnamed former director is said to have slammed the Irishman’s running of Town: “Roy Keane is ruining the club. The mess he left at Sunderland has only just been cleared up.”

Elsewhere, it’s been revealed that former chairman and current board member David Sheepshanks is earning £80,000 a year to run the National Football Centre, which is set to be built near Burton, and FA Learning.

No other member of the FA committee is salaried but a spokesman defended the arrangement: “There has been no impropriety. The agreement was approved by the FA's remuneration committee and the Professional Game Board.”

Sheepshanks was appointed chairman of the National Football Centre project in January.

Meanwhile, Connor Wickham was left out of the England U17s side which beat Malta 5-0 in their second European Championships elite qualifying group game last night. The Town frontman netted in Saturday's 4-0 victory against Sweden.

England complete their fixtures with a match against Slovakia at Northampton on Thursday needing a point to qualify for the finals.

Clegg you're an embarrassment, just a politition covering your backside.

We have have the Manager that will get us where we want to be, just back him! by saying he'll be in charge for Reading implies you'll sack him on Sunday. The guy is a class act, but if he doesn't get the support he'll walk away. We need someone to change this club from Dreamers to Realists and Keane will do it, just back him.

Why not Say "We beleive that Roy Keane is the man to take our club where we want to be, he has another year on his contact and we are fully committed to him fullfiling it".

Perhaps you ought to try and win the support of your employees by backing them publicly instead of covering your backside.

My guess is you can't say this because you don't have the authority or the bottle.

Just let him do his job, being a manager is stressful enough without the press on your back. Also town fans stop trying to make some sort of a coup, it makes no sense sacking Roy now. Some fans are just too pessimistic, have you ever given a thought that all this negativity could be detrimental to the players confidence? No because all of the people wanting Keano out all share the one brain. Stability = success, even a child can grasp that concept.

So what sort of brain do the pro Keane supporters have then ?? A muddled and confused one I suggest .Keane has had a year to bring the club forward and all that has happened is disillusionment and players not knowing where they stand . The man has no clear vision and just acts on impulse as to who is in favour this week and who isn't etc. Stability , reliability and respect come with maturity! That's what the club needs and has NOT got with Keane.

Poor Tony Loughlin. His previous coaching job experience was at Leicester in charge of the Under 11's where he achieved a similar level of failure. His sole function at the club is to agree with RK at all tmes which he does brilliantly and doubtless the players nderstand that. The coach that unfortunatley failed to agree with RK all the time and support his bullying techniques was Bryan Klug. Since leaving Ipswich his coaching skills have given Cambridge United an unbeaten run of success which pulled them out of the relegation zone.

Judge Roy Keane on his next season!

I can't believe that people really think it would be a good idear to get rid of RK now. We all know its been a more than dissapointing season, It doesnt matter if you don't like him, it would be a step backwards for the club if they sacked him. Hes made so many changes that to bring in a new manager would just waste more time. Im not a RK lover! Ive been dissapointed with alot of his purchases and much more, but to get rid of him now? You must be joking!

In my opinion, Town wont be going down this season, so lets see what happens next year. If things are not looking good towards the mid season then you can start moaning and chant for Keane out as much as you like, but right now, its a bit early. Hes building a team, if its a good one or not, we dont know, but next season we will find out.

Everyone wants everthing done yesterday! why cant you all just chill out and support the club and the manager.
