Camp Set to Complete Norwich Move
Monday, 21st Jan 2013 11:23

Nottingham Forest keeper Lee Camp looks set to complete a move to Norwich City with the 28-year-old reported to be due to undergo a medical at Carrow Road today.

The Blues are understood to have spoken to the Northern Ireland international at the start of last week but he subsequently looked at other options with only a deal until the end of the season on offer at Portman Road.

Camp was made available on a free transfer by new Forest boss Alex McLeish having failed to agree a new contract at the City Ground with his current terms up in June.

A deal until the end of the season!? That can't be right surely?
That's not any kind of offer.

Going there to sit on the bench, not the sort of player we want here really. When we already have a keeper who loves the club so much, we don't really need one who is happy to take his money and not play football.

isnt he going to Norwich for the same contract time though? from what i have read he does seem a little bit of a jaded character so he and norwich should get along just fine.

I suppose he will get immediate Premier League football at Norwich until Ruddy returns from injury, and if we only offered him a a five month contract (really?!) I am not surprised he didn't come here.

Good for him, as I've said no better then Loach, give the lad a chance.

Gone to a prem club for the money no doubt, cant see him playing much football with the carrot crunchers! Although to be fair if its true we only offered a six month deal .......

Old Campy always did believe that he belonged in the premier league, his been sticking his bottom lip out since Forest wouldn't let him join Swansea. He is a good keeper on his day - shame is his "day" hasn't been very frequent since June 2011....I suppose the fact that Forest have preferred to let him go now and use a rookie youngster instead speaks volumes...

I would be excited for the second half of the season if we sign two wingers, Westwood or Gilks and McLean and McGoldrick partnership finally catches on. COYB

NCFC could have done with LC at the weekend against LUFC

This is a bit of a strange one, we would offer camp first team football and competition for places. Norwich on the other hand have ruddy, when fit, who is always going to start for them as i hate to say it but he is a very good goal keeper, never mind we have scotty loach!

Hope you rot in the reserves you money grabbing cretin!! Think Loach played superb again at the weekend anyway!

He rates himself higher than Ruddy. Fair play to him. Willing to bet on himself, but if he loses it's reserves and bench.

Did we really offer only until the end of the year? If true, can't blame him for looking elsewhere.

At the end of the day you can't have a GK called 'Camp' however good they are.

NCFC's campest goalkeeper since some of those Bryan Gunn shirts from the 1990s...

Camp would have been a very good acquisition however it would appear that money is key to his move as he will warm the bench until the end of season and when Ruddy returns he'll be third choice.
There are other hungrey keepers i'm sure and MM will hunt them down.
Loach is a good keeper but he needs to work hard on his kicking as demonstrated Saturday.

If this means that Loach gets a run in the side then it's a good news story. If Forest were prepared to let him go he can't have been that good.

RetroBlue added 13:54 - Jan 21
Thank God for that! Camp really is "average", he 'll fit right in carrott roood and will warn their bench. He's no better than Loach and notably MM was only prepared to offre him a deal until the summer - says it all really.

How did that song go again?....You're Camp and you know you are" - the next Canary Fairy?
