Town Introduce Ticket Bundle Scheme
Tuesday, 26th Aug 2014 16:37

Town have launched a new Group Save Bundle ticketing initiative, allowing fans to buy the same seat for four home games at a 15 per cent discount. The first games covered by the scheme will be the Millwall match after the international break and the subsequent Brighton, Rotherham and Blackburn fixtures.

The Blues' director of retail, Lee Hyde, told the club site: “Fans will be able to purchase the same seat for all four games, guaranteeing their place in the stands and saving themselves a nice little discount too.

“It’s something we’ve been looking into for a few months and follows on from the discount offers that we brought in heavily towards the end of last season. This one is great though as all fans can take advantage of the offer.”

To find out more details or to purchase a Group Save Bundle ticket visit Planet Blue or contact Town’s ticketing enquiries team on 03330 050 503. Fans who have already bought Millwall or Brighton tickets can refund them if purchasing a Group Save Bundle.

Try playing football instead of hoof ball and you might just put extra bums on seats just a thought.

Agree baldman - As always, too little too late.

I hate to keep harping on about the Norwich game but if the powers that be want to fill Portman Road then a display of exciting football against our arch rivals may have gone some way to encouraging the extra Town fans at Saturday's game to return - along with the fans who saw it on Sky.

People who can't afford to make ends meet certainly aren't going to be persuaded to watch two shots on goal for upwards of £25.

The business is all about making money and I can't see 25,000 seats filled at the Millwall game - ticket promotion or no ticket promotion!

I fear for our club and manager's future if this trend continues,

Good to see the club making an effort to bring down the cost of games, but buying 4 games at 15% discount still isn't cheap! Roughly 25 a ticket x4 would be £100, -15% would still be a cost of £85 - still prohibitive to some, such as myself.

A 15% discount or even 10% discount on a single ticket would make a big difference to me personally.

Also why not put a 15% discount on 4 tickets for the SAME match? Then those who can't usually afford to go may get a chance to go with mates who similarly can't usually afford to go!

....... I think the writing is on the wall for them that crowd figures are going to go in the wrong direction - who is going to be enticed to watch four games of boring hoofball at a paltry discount of 15% ?

I guess many Season Ticket holders (myself included) would have had second thoughts before coughing up had we have known then, what we know now.
Much remedial work needed before next season on many fronts - that's for sure.

I suggest that Town run a film simultaneously to the action - escape to victory with a few ex town legends plus a bloke from Brazil and a checky chappy from Argentina (who clearly would be released from todays squad)

Any ticket price promotions should be welcomed.

It would be simpler if the price could be quoted though, e.g. four tickets for £X. The trouble is, ITFC make it so complicated with the price bands so you need to get your calculator out for this deal. Millwall is from £27.50. Brighton from £21.00. Rotherham from £21.00. Blackburn from £27.50. So, all four is from £97.00 normal price or £82.45 with the discount.

So to get this offer fans have to visit in person or phone up? I thought ITFC were closing the ticket line as they wanted everyone to buy online?

Seems like a good idea to me.

However, maybe they could do it as a 15% discount card which can be used four times (i.e. for any four games, or even, as Blue92 suggested, four tickets for the same game).

Apart from playing attractive football offfer all younsters 16 and under for a £1 for the rest of the season as long as accompanied by an adult.

Not only will this increase the match day attendance then it will sow the seeds for the next generation of fans. Kids also want shirts, drinks and food so this deal will pay for itself.

Also offer to current season ticket holders an option to renew by christmas at half price thus providing long serving punters with an incentive. If you renew by Feb then 20% discount or something similar.

For those that listen to talk sport you would have heard the west ham offer which is kids for a quid to watch the prem game with Southampton and their average attendance was a club record 34k last season so, footballing aside it makes sense to copy a model of a club relatively similar to us in stature.

The club becomes more divorced from reality, and the fans by the week. these are four fairly unattractive games that will not attract more fans - and this promo will merely allow those who do buy casual tickets each game to save a bit of money - otherwise it is totally worthless.

Just as I suspect was the 'meal deal' offer for the world cup. How many took up that offer ? Probably no one.

How was it that the budgies were able to fill their ground season after season, when their football was dire ? Why can't we do the same ? Out of the millions from the sale of Cresswell surely we could hire someone with the nounce to overhaul our complicated and failing ticket marketing set up.

We seem to have an uncanny knack for getting it wrong.

Well at least there is now an acknowledgement from the club that something needs to be done re ticket prices!

We get a 15% discount on ticket prices and 7 out of 9 comments are negative. Pathetic!
It's good news, every little helps, allow yourselves a chuffing smile every now and again.

Its a panic offer, after that inept display ITFC know casual fans are going to stay away
I think no one will take up this offer ,only ST holders will see all four of these,at best casual fans would pick 2 of these fixtures.
Whoevers job it is to promote ITFC I feel sorry for you at the moment ,you will not survive on your commission

The way we are playing it would still be poor value with a 115% discount.
Need to provide a quality product before they will make any progress.

Fat Boy Tim ....... is obviously a happy clappy chappie - maybe the pies are good - something has to be.

Indeed Blueboy, something has to be good but you've never ever mentioned it! If you can't afford to go then maybe that's our silver lining right there.

Wonder how many would turn up if it was free and we still play the way we do?

Cloddyseedbed added 20:20 - Aug 26
blueboy1981, the pies must be good because I couldn't get one at the Norwich game - they had sold out!
4

mrg25 added 20:22 - Aug 26
Still wouldn't sell out if free as fans are finding better more entertaining things to do like watching paint dry

HackneyBlue added 20:30 - Aug 26
I had a spare ST for Norwich game and asked 6 town fans who used to attend regulary and had zero interest and this included travel all free-

jonbull88. The price at ITFC is set too high, please get real. The gates are dwindling year after year but the club play unattractive football and fans are starting to quit the club as no progress is being made. In fact a general worsening seems to be taking place each season. The caliber of players is appalling and so is the football. You are telling us to basically be grateful for what the club is offering us. A lot of us really long standing supporters are feeling pig sick at what is going on within! It's not all to do with FFP.

mrg25 added 20:42 - Aug 26
Proves my point hacknethee I had spare ticket to but no one was interested owing to dull style of play

"Fans will be able to purchase the same seat for all four games, guaranteeing their place in the stands"

Guaranteeing a place in the stands when they are half-empty? They've got to be kidding, right?
