One for the neutral!

In all seriousness though I much prefer hosting random European opposition as to the usual likes of West Ham, just hope ticket prices would be reasonable

Woohoo I am moving back to Ips in July after over twenty years away. New visiting club, new experience! At least one more season ticket sale coming up.

What a complete waste of time

Never heard of them. I read online that they have an average home attendance of just over 1,000. A slightly strange choice of opponent as I don't see many Town fans paying the £10 a ticket ITFC are likely to charge to see that one.

Poor standard. What happened to the days when we played FC Twente, Celta Vigo, Atletico Madrid and Levski Sofia as a Championship club?

Is this for Mick to learn about continental Football styles? Very random team to play against!

Belgian second division. Should be about our level of dross !!! What's the point of this. Not really a test is it !!!!

Wonder if we're signing one of their players and the friendly is part of the deal? Seems an odd choice of opposition otherwise

Very strange choice. Would expect to visit a second division Belgium club if on tour. Not our pre season home game!

Who?

Exciting stuff, I'm sure. Almost as exciting as Belgium itself.

Welcome back to God's own country, legoman! As you can see, still mostly inhabited by absolute miseries...

If we are playing a team at this standard we might as well have had a return match with Fortuna, at least then there would be some atmosphere at the game.

Phil, the fixture list in the link says this is an away match?

So, you never heard about a team and you think tis is a random team? This club is the most legendary belgian football club, we won the european cup before it exists, we have the world record of unlost games in a row (60) and we are second in the ranking for numbers of titles in the belgian championship. So, before you, lost fellas in a city that no one in the world know exactly where it is, talk about my team, please read and learn a little bit! We are actually 1000 lads in the stadium but it's a record for a second division here. We don't have the same football culture in Belgium than in England but at Union we surely do. So you must feel honored and proud to invite such a great team in you stadium, we'd be glad to receive you if you get on tour!

Unionbhoy - you are a random team to play but it doesn't always mean in a bad way, I'd be more than happy to play you team

Oh well one thing going for us is that they will never have played against a hoof-ball side.

The pre-season fixture list is a joke. Nothing to challenge us (like Utrecht) and not one decent away trip like Dusseldorf last pre season. I have heard of this Belgian team, only because I sometimes bet on the Belgian 2nd division, but without wanting to offend our new TWTD Belgian friend, we would probably beat most of the Belgium premier league apart from (Gent, Club Brugge, Anderlecht) so this is a compete waste of time, effort and clean underwear. What ITFC need is a new PR Director. Someone who can identify with true supporters, build our profile, get us excited again by arranging some higher profile friendlies and coach MM to not be so arrogant.

Pity this is not an away game as most fans I know would like a decent pre-season tour for a change-----but Mick prefers to do what he wants (seeing his mates in Dublin) and ignores fans as usual.

No Fortuna either which is a great shame----would have been nice to return last seasons hospitality.
