Agree. As much as all these signings were hyped up, they are nearly all solid League One players, not Championship standard.

How are Hurst's major signings still at the club?
at 07:00 9 Dec 2021

Nolan, Jackson, Nsiala, Donacien remain despite the 'Demolition Man' period.

Yet they were the bedrock of Hurst's awful tenure.

Don't see how we could scoff at having a manager who only last season was in charge of that season's Champions League winners.

Have it on decent authority that he will be sacked today.

That played regularly. Marriott played once or twice?

Wolves this season, Ipswich in 2001 or Reading in 2006-07 - which was best?

Isn't their whole recruitment based around one agent? That sounds a recipe for disaster.

Easy or hard to win an England cap these days?
at 11:12 19 Mar 2019

Looking at this list, there's a few good players, but no-one outstanding.

Steve Bruce never played for England yet kept winning the Premier League - that situation will surely never happen again.

England's worst ever players

Nugent didn't do much in the Prem. Most are solid Premier League players though I guess they don't scrub up too well when you compare them to Rooney and the like. I mean, what must he have thought when people like Shorey and Zat Knight get selected and he's playing with Ronaldo and Giggs at Man Utd?

Lee Bowyer was quality at Leeds. Did well in the Champions League when they were good so probably worth a punt for England.

Stewart was worthy of a cap. When you think he scored 19 in the Prem in a season and Solanke gets picked after scoring 1. We're in such a different era.

We used to have Shearer, Sheringham, Fowler, Ferdinand, Cole, Wright, Collymore at the same time. Now we have Welbeck and Rashford if there's no Kane.

Anyone can get a game for them these days. There must be some others who were horrendously bad.
