We could be Barnsley.

Sold one of the best midfielders in the championship for pennies, sold their best striker to their closest rivals, sold one of their best youngsters and another put in a transfer request.. And all for less than 2 million I heard due to contracts running out this summer.

That really is bad planning, they could be an outside bed for relegation

That can't be good for stability, you'd expect them to drop like flies?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Championship wages are probably more than they can afford due to the distortion caused by parachute payments. Getting anyone to renew deals would be hard for most clubs with a league 1 wage structure I would imagine, ... and signing before promotion on an improved deal is a huge risk in itself.

Bad times for Barnsley fans.

Perhaps they should have got them tied up in the summer?

They have been making good progress, this really will rock them

My guess is players wouldve wanted championship wages in the summer seeing that is where they'd be playing.
Bad planning maybe, maybe they just couldn't afford it. I can't see Barnsley being that dumb with the players in question though.
Horrible times we live where the rich are vultures living off the poor.

They haven't done a bad job of replacing them so far though by bringing in James from Leicester and a player I really rate, Mowatt from Leeds.

At least they got more for Hourihane than we did!

Barnsley relegated and Hull to survive is what I'm thinking

Poll: How much did you actually think Mick would spend in January?
