WAGHORN 12:54 - Sep 18 with 8423 viewssnipes

Why isn't he starting games ?
Joined us , scored goals , looked sharp and now on the bench .

Am i missing something , has he been injured ?

Because he was playing as a winger. We changed the formation and there's no reason to drop Garner or Didz who are playing great too

Too attack minded for our manager, who prefers Skuses' tackle to his goal?

OK , but how can you justify dropping a player who is scoring goals ?

Isn't that the idea of football ?

garner has been quiet last few games , why not swap them

Whilst in isolation his goal record is good, we need to form a proper strike partnership with a proper midfield behind it.

MM going with McG & Garner as that partnership is, I believe, the right call & Waghorn on the wing isn't a long term solution. Don't worry though, he'll get plenty of game time throughout the season.

Saturday must have royaly pissed you off then? What with Skuse saving a goal at one end and then scoring one at the other.

He and Garner have both started well. Garner is a better foil for Didz than Waghorn to be fair and if we are playing two up top, then Garner and Didz would be the initial obvious pairing.

Whilst Waghorns scoring record started well - he's not been quite as effective more recently - however - the great thing we have now is some genuine competition for places and quality coming off the bench.

Yeah but why isn't Waghorn starting games? I reckon he has an attitude problem.

Would you prefer he starts in place of McGoldrick?

Garner & McG are obviously the best choice when playing 2 upfront.

Agreed, wasn't his best game but what did he do wrong exactly? As always he kept drawing in the fouls

It's a fair argument, strikers feed their confidence from goals, I'd be hell bent on starting Waghorn up top with Garner doing all his scruffy work...

So, keep it simple, go 4-3-1-2 with the one being Didz, MM won't agree though, take the game to the opposition imo..

I must admit when I heard it announced that Waghorn has won the player of the month last month I assumed he would at least be brought on as a sub.

Celina, Sears and Waghorn were training together at half time so I was thinking they would all be coming on.

The day we signed him , a mate of mine who is a Rangers fan laughed at me. He said we have signed a donkey, who will play well for a few games then go missing rest of the season.
I mocked him when Waghorn scored all those early goals, but could he be right?????
I need Waghorn to play and score soon or my mate will get his own back on me!

I dont think Garner did much wrong either. Always going to be difficult when we where second best first half and McGoldrick having to drop deep but he never stopped doing what he is good at, stopping the big defenders clearing the ball. Some dont understand that if he can stop the defender getting a decent headed clearance so midfield has a chance to collect the second ball he has done his job. As for Waghorn he will get his chances just cos he aint starting at the moment doesn't mean he's not valued.
