We've been waiting for Dids forever 14:05 - Feb 22 with 1302 viewscbower

Dids has been with us for just over 5 years now. 5 x 46 games and a handful of FA and League Cup games each year (let's call it 50 a season) - that is ca. 250 games he has been here for. He has played in less than 150 - a good 20 of those are cameo appearances on the well trodden comeback trail. Nice player but I really don't want to see him here next season. Wish him well but at best 25 games a season on the best money at the club - time to look elsewhere. He seems made of glass and twigs.

Certainly if we have the midfield we should have had this season with at least two of Huws, Adeyemi, Dozzell and Bishop involved then we don't need him in the same way as before. For much of the last 5 years he's been filling a void and helping us build our attacking play.

Even if he stayed he seems to be a player who would have to compete for a place and need a contract that reflects that. I'm sure there's still a great player there if he can find the right situation for his undoubted ability.

Then there's a matter of style. If the ball were being fed to him in the box, with support available, he could do a lot. Indeed, that was what had been happening in the early part of this season.

However, he doesn't have the speed to chase long balls into the channels, asking him to drop deep gives him too much to do and forwards doing midfield jobs robs him of options even when in a good position.

He's not a great marksman, quite often puts the ball wide. So fewer decent chances will impact his scoring rate considerably.

Finally, the harder he has to work - including exposure to brutal tackles - the more chance of picking up yet another injury.

Five this season and both the two previous. Seven the one before that. 2013-14 has been his only really prolific one, with 16.

He's a glorious player, when on form, as he was earlier in the season, our most gifted, permanently signed player. But he can't be relied on to be fit for long enough in a season, and that's not going to get better as he gets older.

It will be a sad day to me, but he's probably played his last game for us and may well leave in the summer...

Goalscoring record is poor but how much of that is down to his inability to ever be anywhere near fit...he has matchstick legs & no power to his shots..they all seem to be daisy cutters at best these days.

Should’ve got rid last month whilst we still could’ve scraped some cash for him.

We can still get 8 million quid for him though right? Right?!
