He was ex Norwich and I don't remember him getting a hard time for it. Either do I recall John Deehan or Louie Donawa getting made to feel unwelcome in the way that Andy Marshall was. If it is Lambert I hope we can all be adult enough to forget any Norwich connections and give him our full backing.

Didn’t Bryan Hamilton manage NCFC? And yet we allowed him to come back?

You forget Royle only played there briefly, Deehan scored a hat trick in his first few games and Louie was an Ipswich lad.

Actually think Royle got a very mixed reception at his first game, and remember a lot of Anti-Royle singing before his appointment. My problems with Lambert, are i think he is a busted flush who will do a job and no more

Bobby Robson - thank you

Maybe so but I don't recall too much disgruntlement after he took us to 2 play off semis on a very much shoestring budget.

I expect that was more for his Man City management days. When he took over here that was about 20 years since he played for them.

I seem to remember plenty of arguments on here about him, even when we were doing well. However that was probably because a lot of people just did not like him, rather than the Norwich connection

BFJ. And he took that as well as anyone could, I seem to remember.

He did an incredible job - even down to that last season when we were playing loads of youngsters alongside old players because we couldn't afford anyone in between. It was seen as a bad season because we were used to challenging for the playoffs (we were within touching distance but tailed off terribly in the last couple of months) but that was an amazing effort in retrospect.

Goes to show what the right manager can do even with the wrong players and no money.

You should have went, it was brilliant. Different to the Burley era but as much fun in many ways.

We could never defend but scored a load of goals.
