Crikey! Our Cup record is poor 18:12 - Jan 4 with 687 views | Darth_Koont | And not just since we've been back in the Championship either. For a side that's won the League, been in the top 2 tiers for the past 60 years and actually won the FA Cup and a European trophy, our record the rest of the time has been pretty poor. In fact, take out the purple patch of 75 to 81 and we've been pretty woeful. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ipswich_Town_F.C._seasons For anyone who says that we haven't performed over the last 16 years in the Championship or too many of our managers haven't prioritised the cup competitions, it looks very similar to the 16 years before that. Maybe now that we're staring down the barrel of the third tier that trend is due to change. We've got enough players coming back, coming in and floating around the squad that a cup run might actually do us some good in getting our league season going.

Crikey! Our Cup record is poor on 18:28 - Jan 4 with 651 views | Ftnfwest | Don’t be silly, we’re just a small club that should know our place. We can’t dream of watching a bit more attractive football or winning cup games against lower division or non league teams, whatever next!

Based on our record it certainly is a dream. Of course, the harsh reality is that a side at the rock-bottom of the table is not the favourite when playing away against a side in midtable in the league below. I'm just hoping that an FA Cup game gives us a little break from the league pressure and the players a chance to go out and get back to winning ways.

Crikey! Our Cup record is poor on 18:34 - Jan 4 with 639 views | unstableblue | You're right Darth it's shockingly bad record. A good FA cup win would be a shot in the arm for the fans and the season, if we followed it up with a win against Rotherham (our last, last, last throw of the dice) there would be a really up beat mood round the club for the Blackburn away game. Perhaps a good FA Cup run is all we'll get this season, but again it would keep the mood in the squad and fan base up for next season..... Perhaps its a game to revitalise the defence? get Bart back in, Toto, our new left back (whilst giving Kenlock a half). Hell why not Donacien - who I always felt did well at right back. As you say squad is getting quite large, especially if another 3-4 players come in and Huws and Bishop fully return to fitness AND loanees return. Midfield looks particularly packed: Bishop Chalobah Edwards Skuse (returning) Nolan Rowe Roberts Downes Dozzell Huws (miracle if he gets a run of fitness - but you can but hope)

Wouldn’t it be nice for a change. I’d take even a semi final appearance in exchange for relegation right now. I notice though that the BBC vultures are circling even though Stanley are favourites
Crikey! Our Cup record is poor on 19:08 - Jan 4 with 586 views | Illinoisblue | didn't we have a record-breaking spell of getting past the 3rd round for 18 consecutive years or something? Best record in the country at one point.
