Breaking (not hereford) news : Assange Arrested on 14:33 - Apr 11 by Guthrum
Doubt it'll be quick at all. Even if it's approved at the first stage, there are possible appeals all the way up to the Home Secretary.
Yes, the only outstanding issue is him having jumped bail (an imprisonable offence itself).
Agree it won’t be quick and he’ll have all sorts of high profile lawyers wanting this case.
UN have asked to be allowed to see him on 20th to make sure his human rights haven’t been violated. Which is ironic given what his release of data has done to others.
This might last longer than Brexit...

Do you have a link to illustrate what his data has done to others please?

there are - but given the home secretary has publicly stated "noone is above the law" today in direct reference to his case , i suspect that any attempts for appeal will get kicked out pretty sharpish. But you're right it might take 6-12 months if not longer - and heres the interesting bit. he could well be "out" on his charge of jumping bail before any extradition proceedings (a little bit like gary mcinnon) - so he might end up in another country which doesnt have that treaty if he plays it right.
I think the govt. probably has too much skin in the game to take any of their revelations without a bucket or salt. Seems to me most of the damage is to the illusory squeaky clean narrative of western governments while off a conquesting! Interesting also that he has passed on info about the Russian state too according to the buzzfeed link.
