Chemical Brothers - Victoria Park London last night on 09:14 - May 26 with 981 views | bluewein | I was there. I too got soaked but didn’t care. Reading on twitter that some people ran home before they started is very, very odd. What did you think off All Points East in general? Second year I’ve been and it’s fast becoming my favourite festival. Bakar, Johnny Marr and The Strokes were highlights yesterday. Today’s gonna be a fun lineup too...

Yep, decent festival and well organised. Stupidly I stayed outside to watch Primal Scream whilst others were in the tent for John Hopkins. I giggled at the entrance as the 'You Will Be Searched' scared a few. Little bags of white powder left abandoned.. Hot Chip were fantastic too.

Not seeing Scream is gonna be my biggest regret of the weekend, but I’d just seen Hot Chip (I agree they were excellent) and didn’t fancy heading back to North then East stage again. Yeah, I noticed that too. The searches are quite tame as well so a few of those bags were definitely wasted...

I was thinking of going to yesterday's effort, but realised I'd double booked as saw Alice in Chains and BRMC at Wembley arena. Happy with my choice as Alice in Chains were utterly incredible, and the sound was immense. Alas, I did also go to the league 2 playoff final, and that was sh1t.

To be fair, as much as I enjoyed yesterday I think it was the weakest day of the three. Couple of acts let me down, Jarvis Cocker and annoyingly Temples weren’t what I thought they’d be. BRMC is the one band I’m still desperate to see and still never got round to it, but I reckon I’m living off those first two albums. Not really listened to much after that...

Yesterday's APE had The Strokes, The Raconteurs, Parquet Courts, Viagra Boys, Anna Calvi, Fat Whites and Dream Wife that I'd have happily seen. Temples have some decent stuff but some is a bit lightweight. I've seen BRMC play some amazing gigs - yesterday wasn't one! Really not helped by "support act sound mix". The first 2 albums are clearly their high point, though Beat The Devil's Tattoo is also very good.

The Strokes were really good, although I found Julian Casablancas to be one of the most uninteresting frontmen when he’s not singing. His mumbling crowd interaction is blood terrible! Interpol clashed with The Raconteurs which I was never going to miss. Fat Whites were really good, they surprised me as did Bakar. Dream wife annoyed the hell out of me so I only gave them ten minutes before walking away. As per our exchange on twitter, I’d been really enjoying what I heard of Temples in the build up to the weekend but it was a serious let down for me. I’ll have to jump back into BRMC’s catalog and give them a listen. Just never feel with the odds and sods I listen to that they’ll never come anywhere near that first album...

Yes! I went on the Friday with a good bunch of mates. A few were worried about the search, I think having the dogs done it, but one of the lads said the dogs lose their ‘powers’ after an hour so everyone relaxed. Ha! Fantastic event, great feel to it. Chems were sensational. My personal highlight though was Jon Hopkins. Blew us all away. Bonus that we didn’t get wet too! Had no idea it had lashed it down.
