New rules for next season 20:13 - May 29 with 1182 viewsOldsmoker

I've just stumbled across this article

https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/rule-changes-2019

At first glance it seems if the referee gets in the way then its a drop ball if the ball went to the opposition.
+ goal kicks don't have to clear the area anymore - I like that.
+ Opposition can't stand in a defensive wall - I like that too.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

The wall rule is very interesting.

Although they are there to disrupt the effectiveness of the wall, effectively they are also being marked. By making attackers stand 1m from wall makes more problems for the defending team, potentially +2 attackers than defenders.

I like this one:

"A player who is being substituted must leave the field by the nearest point on the touchline/goal line (unless the referee indicates the player can leave quickly/ immediately at the halfway line or a different point because of safety, injury etc.)"

I have seen people over 90 years of age move quicker than players being substituted from the other side of the pitch.

There may be more rule changes that this article hasn't bothered to cover.
As a fan I would like to know the guidance given to referees as per added on minutes.
I've been told, and I have no reason to doubt, that a substitution gets 30 secs and a goal gets a minute.
I'd just like to know what's the official guidance.

Only guidance but there is nothing in the laws to tell how much time a referee should add on. Last season we saw referees adding on an extra minute for injury time substitutions or not bothering at all which doesn't stop the time wasting.

Tomas Holy will hve more trouble with this one than most:

"The goalkeeper must not be touching the goalposts/crossbar/nets."

It doesn't say what sanction there is for failing to comply with that. I wonder if we will see players booked for choosing to take the long way off the pitch instead of the short way.
