There’s an Avon product which isn’t a repellant but works. I think it’s Skin So Soft. I was given the tip by a friend who’s plagued by them and they swore by it. It worked for us on a Majorca holiday.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

I was told that Lemon shower gel and a slice of vegemite toast every morning works.

I also heard that the military use Avon skin so soft moisturiser.

Tried both while backpacking around China and didn't get bitten very often.
