World Cup final then 20:38 - Jul 13 with 1797 viewswkj

NZ have proven they can bowl their socks off this tournament. Will England's relaxing win over Aus breed complacency or confidence?

What is your take?

I think the idea of complacency at that level is a total myth.

Truly impaired.

I hope England win but I don't think it will be easy. If England turn up we win if we don't look out.

Guptill is yet to fire in this tournament. I just hope his bad run continues tomorrow.

Williamson is clearly their rock. Get him early as well and I don't think there's a lot else to be worried about in that batting line up.

Boult and Ferguson are quality and cannot be underestimated.

Archer and Woakes have proven that they can stall sides pretty effectively at the top of the innings but it would be nice if Wood would come on afterwards and keep that pressure on.

Plenty of in-form batsmen for England. Buttler has been quiet by his standards though and hopefully, we won't see him in before the 35th over or so tomorrow.

As for a prediction, I think the rest of this board would prefer me to keep schtum and keep off the forum until 7pm tomorrow.

England in excellent form with 2 very competent units. Ideally win the toss and survive 10 overs. After that we'll see. I'm hoping England can do it.

Would be pure England to steamroller NZ in the group, stuff the Aussies in the semi and then make a mess of the final.

Given that the team winning the toss will bat first a lot will hang on the first 10 overs. At Lords it will be very easy to bat first and be 20-3 before you know it...

I was 100% confident we would beat Australia.

The Final, I'm just not sure...Lords is totally different to Edgbaston in terms of crowd atmosphere which always raises overseas teams.

It's also a ground where left-arm swing bowlers flourish and they have Boult.

Plenty of cloud cover in the morning, I think it's a bowl first toss.

Lords' finals, certainly the old B&H and Natwest finals in any case, used to be notorious for being decided by the toss of a coin with the side inserted being something hopeless like 30-4 after 15 overs.

NatWest final was early September and the early morning moisture was a massive factor. Think the side batting 1st have won all the Lords matches so far this World Cup.

Not this one they didn't.

Though you could also argue, they did.
