I would imagine he's een as a potential resignation risk if Boris goes for no deal.

It's rather ironic that we've had Brexiteers banging on about their WWII winning fantasies, only to then see their poster boy sack someone who has actually served. Not that anyone's military record should be a deciding factor on whether they're in or out of the Govt, of course. I just find it mildly amusing.
From what I've seen he's accepted the news (at least publically) with grace and a maturity sadly lacking in the others who've been squabbling over who gets the juiciest jobs.
