He invested enough to start with; his problem wasn't financial to start with but putting his trust in the wrong people. To be fair you could see his thinking with Keane and McCarthy and, yes, Hurst but... I still ponder about why he considered Jewell to be a good option. |  |

We are relegated because of a man who doesn’t spend everyday training the squad, doesn’t spend anytime tactically analysing opposition, doesn’t pick the team every week and doesn’t cross the white line at 3pm every Saturday.

Ok, but to pick/build that team, he has to look at lower league rejects or injury prone players from our relative level. We will never succeed with that philosophy.

Suspect you are confusing the result with the performance.
Positives
Good to see Edwards start and Huws and Judge get more game time.
Useful run out for the likes of Norris, Wilson, Dozzell.
Dobra caught the eye and deserved his goal.
It was a makeshift team designed to give players game time in a competition that frankly very few clubs want to win.
Negatives
The gaps in the squad are rather obvious. Both full backs had a tough time albeit Clements is relatively inexperienced so should be given time. Not sure either are ready to deputise.
We were lightweight up front. Roberts put himself about but is not a centre forward.
We were unbalanced across the middle, we missed Skuse or Downes.
Luton moved the ball at pace better than we did. While it may be their reserves, they had some decent players such as Izzy Brown. | | | |

You could argue we have picked a reserve team - we've made ten changes from the weekend.
Yes Chambers, Huws, Edwards and Judge should all be considered as first teamers but, as I said elsewhere, the latter three are coming back from injury. On top of that we have an unfavoured right back, a kid at left back, a severe lack of balance in midfield, another youngster at left wing and no recognised striker. |
with all those seasoned pros , it's an 18 year old making his debut who is man of the match , something's wrong somewhere .
It all sounds so gutless , winning needs to become a habit and that should include cup matches | | | |
