Oddly-shaped balls on 12:50 - Oct 26 by Mullet | I was more confused he seemed to let about3 or 4 forward passes go. Maybe watching with a toddler wasn't the best idea, but I'm sure the commentators said the same. |
Altho difficult for him to spot through the crowd, the lino ought to have picked it up. Owens does like to let the game flow whenever possible.

Oddly-shaped balls on 11:23 - Oct 26 by Ryorry | Disagree, it'd just be seen as disrespectful to what is after all a great sporting (and cultural) tradition - could even be counterproductive. Better to face up to it, literally! |
Or is it cultural appropriation?

Yes, it is seen as somewhat sacrosanct and not to be opposed or interfered with. Which, given it's a form of ritual battle-challenge, is not entirely justified. Interestingly, the ABs used a different haka from normal today. Not sure which one that was.

There were two or three that certainly looked forward and I think they would have been picked up by the TMO. But possession normally went over to the other side before an advantage was gained, so the TMO wouldn't get involved. All in all, I thought the teams and Owens did really well to keep the game going in those slick conditions. In another game, it could have been a scrummaging borefest.
