Leaves a squad of around 21 players which should have more than enough quality. Play with a diamond or 5-3-2. We haven’t had success with wingers for years so bin them and play to our strengths through the middle.

Personally not so keen on Tommy Smith. Was more thinking of someone in the mould of Carter Wickers. Young, but with some experience from higher level. He has been recalled to spurs from Stoke so could be available and perhaps with option to buy if it works out. |  |

I agree with your thoughts here, I'd perhaps keep Dobra and consider playing 4-3-3, with him competing with Sears, Jackson + maybe Norwood for the wide forward roles.
We've tried 4-3-3 before but used natural wingers in the wide forward roles who offered little goal threat so it ends up more of a 4-5-1 |  |
