Copa 1992-93 third kit 23:37 - Jan 30 with 1922 views | The_Last_Baron | I see Copa have made another two town kits - the 85-86 Radio Orwell shirt and the 92-93 red/black striped third kit. The Orwell kit is a poor copy, easily the worst Copa reproduction. However the red/black Fisons shirt is a thing of beauty. It doesn't have the umbro logo and the collar isn't 100 percent the same but it's pretty close. Town's finest ever away kit in my view. We should wear something like this next season. Umbro made great kits for Town. [Post edited 31 Jan 2020 1:36]

How many Umbro kits did we have after Adidas? My first Town shirt was an inherited Adidas one, it must have been from the early 90's?

Umbro was with Town from 89-95. There were three home kits, 89-92 which was a classic kit and which we wore when we won the Division Two title in 1992. The lace up design from 92-94 which it seems people either loved or hated. I loved it. The 94-95 kit which was a bland kit and was worn by the worst Town side before we had to suffer the 2018-19 season. Off the top of my head the away kits during this time were the all Tangerine number from 1989-92, there was also an alternative white away kit 91-93, the red and black striped third kit 92-93 and a red/black pinstripe kit from 93-95. So by my reckoning 7 umbro kits. I'd say five of them were great, the final two the weakest. Anyway here is the link to the Copa reproduction. https://itfcshop.com/catalog/product/view/id/10952/s/2189-1992-93-fisons-3rd-shi [Post edited 31 Jan 2020 1:36]

Think you will find, we played in a umbro kit in 1975-77. I have a 1975 cold weather matchday shirt worn by John Wark. I also own a white umbro tracksuit top which was given to me by Eric Gates.

They make pretty decent ones now too, I wouldn't be too disappointed if we shifted to them from Adidas.

I was talking about the most recent umbro Town kits. I believe Umbro made Town's kits from late 60s to 77.but the logo only appeared min 70s.

Oh yes, forgot about that. Pretty sure Nike bought them in order to get the England team kit deal.

In 2012, I missed that. Good news as I can't stand Nike. Crap football kits.

Once, they'd managed to get the England contract presumably. EDIT - they announced the sale in May 2012 and they got he England contract in September of that year. And Mike Ashley made a load of money out Nike buying them as he held a substantial amount of Umbro shares. [Post edited 31 Jan 2020 13:50]
