I don't know why this is a surprise or particularly controversial. Left wing politics and Marxism in particular is fundamentally concerned with equality, which is also the chief aim of the BLM movement, to achieve genuine equality for Black people. They see that you can't bring about genuine equality whilst perpetuating a fundamentally unequal and exploitative system. You can hardly expect them to be pro a system that helps perpetuate inequality and exploitation.
