Put simply, money.
You know that admin charge that absolutely everyone hates and moans about they have to pay when using these sites? It's because running a site that can handle extreme loads is incredibly expensive and very difficult, so the "admin charge" really is "pay for all our servers, developers, operations, etc."
I imagine the iFollow stuff just isn't as good, nor was it designed for the levels of demand it currently has because of the pandemic. |  |
