19 years since Milan!!! Who was there!?!? 20:11 - Dec 6 with 4308 viewsunstableblue

Went with 4 mates... such a blast; albeit not sure the Milan fans were quite as interested in the fixture!

Who else was there?

Poll: What level of support are you bringing to Portman Road today?

Looking back at that - it seems that wasn't just a lifetime ago now but a whole other reality! Makes me feel sad for what happened after really. Most clubs have ups and downs but we've really had a bad time since our last run of success.

Football League First Division / Premier League Champions (1): 1961—62 - Runners-up (2): 1980—81, 1981—82 Football League Second Division / EFL Championship Champions (3): 1960—61, 1967—68, 1991—92 - Play-off winners (1): 1999—2000 Football League Third Division / EFL League One Champions (2): 1953—54, 1956—57 - Southern League Champions (1): 1936—37 FA Cup Winners (1): 1977—78 - Texaco Cup Winners (1): 1972—73 UEFA Cup / UEFA Europa League Winners (1): 1980—81

Fantastic memories of Milan not just the football but climbing the steps to the top of Milan Cathedral. Did most of the Europe trips but for me Moscow is top of the the list. A fantastic City although you had to behave or be in trouble. Unusual to be greeted by the military when the coach dropped us off at the ground all armed with rifles etc. Enjoyed all the trips I went on i.e. Luxembourg, Sweden, Holland, Italy for Lazio (Rome) where we were tear gassed on exiting the ground. Wonderful memories that our beloved football Club gave us. So sad we are where we are now.

Not the same sort of experience, but in the home leg I just loved seeing up on the scoreboard Ipswich 1 Inter 0 .

Must have been close to being the highlight of Alun Armstrong's career.

I was there with a friend, booked a hotel with Expedia. We had a good look at the city, though not all the bars were open, we also had to get a metro out of the city to find a nightclub. Saw Da Vincis masterpiece The Last Supper also. The huge stadium and occasion, the flares, the huge Town support all made it worthwhile.
A tough game against European elite, at least we had a goal to cheer, seems a bit far fetched now that we expected we could win on the day. What is quite something is the Ronaldo Lima was fielded on his first return from long injury, and that precipitated his return to form winning the golden boot and world cup in Japan and winning much with Real Madrid. In my opinion one of the top 2 greatest ever to play the game.

Like you some of my best memories were not up at the San Siro.... but the afternoon around the centre and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.. chic bars and coffee shops being by Suffolk types in Town kits... hilarious

Do you remember Sheepshanks heading over to the fans at the end to salute them!!

I remember being under floating Town kit.... high on Peroni and life!

yes I remember it well, summed the guy up to a tee.

Bumped into Tony Mowbray in the Duomo trying to be cultured.
Asked for directions to the stadium at a newsagents. First they wanted to know who we supported as they unaware of any match taking place. When we said they burst out laughing and proceeded to send us completely in the wrong direction.

Was it you or Mogga 'trying'?

I suspect it was no effort for him!

Generally found the Italians rude except for a taxi driver who hated Inter.
