Energy Suppliers 08:20 - Feb 1 with 3408 views | hype313 | My Energy Supplier has gone kaput, second one in successive years, starting to think I might be a bad omen. In the meantime I'll await who OFGEM move me to before I can change, chances are it will be British Gash, so any recommendations would be welcome! Just had a quick thought, is this post a bit Mumsnet Esq? [Post edited 1 Feb 2021 8:21]

Energy Suppliers on 08:24 - Feb 1 by hype313 | Cheers Dan, much appreciated, I'll give them a look. |
Ditto as per Dan, really good - only issue is if you move you then end up waiting fopr refund from one supplier - doesn't affect me too much fortunately but can end up £200+ down for 10 or so weeks which might not be ideal for everyone

Energy Suppliers on 11:33 - Feb 1 with 421 views | soupytwist | We switched from Ovo to Octopus a couple of months ago via the Money Saving Expert switching service. All good so far. Just off to do my monthly meter reading.

Energy Suppliers on 11:26 - Feb 1 by GavTWTD | Ah that's who I was with a year ago. Currently with Bulb and no problems so far apart from I can't be arsed to do readings. |
Yep we know. Warning Hard Disk at 99.98% capacity. System shutdown imminent. Errr ....Phil...pass me a hob-nob, no a chocolate one, and by the way I just need to shutdown TWTD for some planned essential maintenance.

Energy Suppliers on 11:05 - Feb 1 by Bassett_Blue | Green Network Energy, if that is who you were thinking of have gone into administration I believe, so won't be able to switch to them anyway. |
NOT them, no! (as if I'd recommend a failed company ... ) *These* guys - https://green.energy/our-company

Sorry I was referring to the alternative company you mentioned (Green Energy), and saying they had gone into admin, not the supplier you are with. I wasn't accusing you recommending a failed company!

You could have a smart meter fitted to avoid having to give readings. I think a lot of the cheaper tariffs now are ones that require a smart meter. Although smart meters themselves don't actually save you money, they are supposed to make you more aware of the energy you are using, to help you change your usage.

Green Energy havn't gone into admin either. Appreciate the names are similar & therefore confusing, but you need to be more careful/precise.

Energy Suppliers on 12:33 - Feb 1 with 367 views | hype313 | Update on this enthralling thread from Martin Lewis "Green Network Energy customers are to be ported to EDF. It says "all customers will see a price decrease versus they're current tariff until 21 Sept 2021". I find that surprising as GNE had some v cheap fixes. So will update when we've full tariff details."

I didn't realise there was a third company! So there are Green, Green Energy and Green Network Energy. For the avoidance doubt only Green Network Energy have gone into admin. [Post edited 1 Feb 2021 12:41]

I imagine it's all part of the long game from EDF. Pop customers on a better deal for six months, let them get nice and comfortable, and then hit them with a switch to the Standard Variable tariff in the hope that they'll have forgotten all about it by then.
