However I think until fans are back at Portman road an appt like Dyer/Mogga or Veno would be wasted at this time as imagine the noise if they walked out for the first in front of fans. It would help immensely to get them off to a good start.

We can’t afford to leave it any longer we need change now, the bad feeling is only going to get worse the longer Evans leaves it.

I think Sheepy was still here and still maybe advising back then. What had Jim really done wrong? The last manager to put one over that lot up the road, a real damming statistic. The dark lord was always going to end in tears, and now lambo is completing the job of his assistant.

Jim was 12 points off the play-offs and no long able to make it into them when the decision was made to sack him having been given signficant cash over the previous 18 months, so from that side of things it was a fair reaction. On top of that, his relations with the media weren't too far different to PL's at present.

Indeed, leaving too much longer and the new manager won't have time to turn it around.

That’s quite an awful thing then, any prospective manager who take over has to have success pretty quick or all the media and those on this site will be on his back hounding them out the door. I really don’t know where that leaves us then, my guess is Evans has decided that we stick with lambo because in 6-10 months time we are back to square one.

Evans gave Lambert the free ride of relegation from the Championship and very few fans argued with that.

He then gave him the free ride of last season's slump to mid-table. Fewer fans were happy to accept that at this level.

Although the good start to the season bought a stay of good will from most (not all notably), the current position and trajectory means Evans has effectively given Lambert 18 months of underachievement even after the free ride of relegation. If there were genuine green shoots I think there would be some degree of support for him but there really is nothing to suggest we are about to turn things around.

I am certain a new manager will be given far more than 10 months unless they really took us backwards and we were in a relegation battle.

You're absolutely spot on with all your reasoning and I think while I would not have chosen him initially, I fell into the group of having to give the man a chance including the start this season. I think from around November it was plainly clear that it was failing miserably, I know we were there or there about the top six it was not really down to us more the very poor teams around us failing as well. This only confirms that either A) the players we have are no better than the rest in this division or B) the coaching they are receiving is dreadful. I happen to think that some of our players are over hyped especially those that have not been playing regularly, however they are considerably better than this division currently boasts. Which really leads to the conclusion how they are being coached to play is down very much to the style of management we currently have. It was almost as if Lambert set Chambers and Ward up last week with the diamond to fail. With that system if you have two older less athletic full backs you are asking for trouble. We really are scraping the barrel these days, it will not do much for all our up and coming youngsters, no wonder they get poached before they make the first team, fellow managers want them before Lambert ruins them.
I do fear that we are stuck with Lambert and co, I don't want to lose games just to get him the sack I want win every game in spite of him.

I don't think that's the case.

ANYONE coming in now, or in the next month or so, would be seen as having only a slim to, at best, reasonable chance of rescuing this season, i.e. turning around the shambles that these jokers have got us into, and gaining promotion via the play-offs.

Anyone failing in that, but still managing to engineer a significant improvement in performance on and off the pitch, would go into a promotion push next season with overwhelming support and enthusiasm, in my opinion.

Sticking with Lambert now is just utterly untenable, there is absolutely no way back under any realistic scenario, and if fans are allowed back into the ground they'll be, at least metaphorically, tearing the place down if he is still in charge.

It is insane not to make the change asap.

When Mark was at Town I would often speak to him in Manningtree he lived in Dedham I believe nice bloke.

Went to pre season game with my son & grandson at Hitchin in 2000. Went into their clubhouse for a beer after the game. Two guys came round with sandwiches it was Mogga & Veno challenges us to a game pool however GB came in told them the coach was leaving so never got a game of pool.
