Imagine what most on here would rightly be saying if these were Millwall fans.

Many Town fans seem to think we've got a God-given right to success and respect, just because in the past, granted for an extended period, we were well-run and managed by decent, talented people with a smile on their face.

This behaviour is criminal thuggery. The fact that the people doing it want Paul Lambert out, and I agree with them on that passionately, doesn't change the fact that it was criminal thuggery. In the eyes of many people watching Sky and reading the news, this is now the image of Ipswich Town and its fans. This is the principal achievement of Blue Action so far.

I wonder what delights they have planned next...

If we were Millwall, Lambert would be long gone. They, like most clubs, have a lot less tolerant supporters than this club.

God given right to success and respect? I take it you are a bored Norwich fan on a wind up, or have been hibernating in a cave.

I really don’t think that wanting a football club that isn’t in perpetual decline owned by a faceless fast buck merchant, managed by a bloke with nothing between his years following many years of garbage bar a season or two of moderately successful hoofball, is too much to ask.

Nobody is expecting the Robson/Ramsey years or even to emulate a club that once were our peers in Leicester City. Most people have an idea where this club ought to be with its potential support base, and it isn’t looking up with wonder to Wycombe, Luton, Crewe and goodness knows who else half way down the old third division.

If you really are a Town fan and are happy with the shambles that used to be a football club, great, I’m pleased for you. I am not.

Reminds me of a rather good poem -

https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/51294/waiting-for-the-barbarians

"Waiting for the Barbarians
BY C. P. CAVAFY
TRANSLATED BY EDMUND KEELEY

What are we waiting for, assembled in the forum?

The barbarians are due here today.

Why isn’t anything going on in the senate?
Why are the senators sitting there without legislating?

Because the barbarians are coming today.
What’s the point of senators making laws now?
Once the barbarians are here, they’ll do the legislating.

Why did our emperor get up so early,
and why is he sitting enthroned at the city’s main gate,
in state, wearing the crown?

Because the barbarians are coming today
and the emperor’s waiting to receive their leader.
He’s even got a scroll to give him,
loaded with titles, with imposing names.

Why have our two consuls and praetors come out today
wearing their embroidered, their scarlet togas?
Why have they put on bracelets with so many amethysts,
rings sparkling with magnificent emeralds?
Why are they carrying elegant canes
beautifully worked in silver and gold?

Because the barbarians are coming today
and things like that dazzle the barbarians.

Why don’t our distinguished orators turn up as usual
to make their speeches, say what they have to say?

Because the barbarians are coming today
and they’re bored by rhetoric and public speaking.

Why this sudden bewilderment, this confusion?
(How serious people’s faces have become.)
Why are the streets and squares emptying so rapidly,
everyone going home lost in thought?

Because night has fallen and the barbarians haven't come.
And some of our men just in from the border say
there are no barbarians any longer.

Now what’s going to happen to us without barbarians?
Those people were a kind of solution."
