Crewe were a model club once but are an utter disgrace now on 12:06 - Mar 20 with 1727 views | solemio | Many years ago I said that at that time Ferguson was the 2nd greatest football manager in this country and that the greatest was Dario Gradi. A bit later when the appalling situation at Crewe became apparent I came on to say Cancel That. Ferguson No 1. The Times article only makes the club seem even worse, which seemed impossible.

Crewe were a model club once but are an utter disgrace now on 10:49 - Mar 22 with 1335 views | itfcsuth | I played for Crewe Alexandra academy for 8 years. Some disgusting and terrible things have come out of that club, and I can't say it was a particularly pleasant club on the whole during my time. But I must say there was some great coaches that influenced me during my particular time there, including Neil Critchley and Steve Holland - who have gone on to have very good careers.

I can't imagine he'll now enjoy working with people who silence him for speaking out about sex abuse. Personally I would have resigned on the spot.

I would happily have welcomed Artell in as town manager had we not got Cook. I think he has done really well to rise up through the ranks and encapsulate the community of the club. It is an awful shame that Crewe has behaved in such an archaic manner rather than live up to their failings, maybe even providing support to the people that endured the abuse they received.

I'm at a loss to understand their attitude. It's a PR disaster on a massive scale as well as a moral one. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Indeed, I'm quite sure that most of the other clubs - and there was a ling list in the 200% article sit somewhere between wanting to pretend it was all a long time ago and to move and on and genuine contrition. To do neither and ignore it as Crewe have done is dreadful, although that possible reflects that their long-serving, once highly regarded, manager is implicated in covering up abuse as are members of the current board.
