Must have gadgets 15:01 - Mar 25 with 1569 views | GeoffSentence | I took delivery of Mandolin earlier on today, the slicey thing not the musical instrument, and I cannot imagine how I have got this far through life without one. Geoff's recommendation 8 stars out of 9 - Get one. [Post edited 25 Mar 2021 15:01]

I was talking rubbish. We didn't get a mandolin, we got a ukulele. I can do a picture, but not a video. It's a nice little instrument: a Kala something or other, only about £60 and sounds really good (we've got a full sized concert harp, so anything not in the tens of thousands is a bargain in my mind!). I've always wanted to learn the guitar, so am going to give this a go first.

If you have not already purchased them, I would strongly advise getting anti-vibration gloves to use with the chain saw. I had a pile of large trees made available to me many years ago (yes, a younger man had wood...) and as I worked through them with a very modest chain saw over a couple of days I started to get this tingling feeling in my fingers which would not go away for a couple of weeks. I think I may have avoided carpal tunnel syndrome by the skin of my teeth and have been wary of the effects of power tools ever since: https://www.hse.gov.uk/treework/health/hand-arm-vibration.htm
