Where does this leave our Academy. And Klug? on 21:55 - May 15 by franz_tyson | Connor Wickham was sold 10 years ago. We’ve not sold any young players for any significant. money for 10 years. Apart from the likes of Knights , Brown.... and they were years away from our first team. Would it be so bad if Dozzell was sold for decent money? He gets a move to a club where he could fit in and progress his career and we use that money to buy player/s which fit here. It’s all about how good we are in selling/ recruitment . Dyer was sold and we bought 3 players that helped us get promoted. |
yeah but both Dyer and Bent stood out against players who were vastly more experienced and senior in our team, you could see they were a touch above our level and it was going to be hard to keep them at the club as a result, we didnt willingly sell them but knew we couldnt keep them and had to let them go if offers came in to stay afloat. Dozzell doesnt fit that pattern, he doesnt stand out as a player in the team, doesnt seem to have made that step across from being an academy player or occasional impact sub to first name on the team sheet, and the managers approach is well I dont need you, even though he's building a team to get promotion, which I think ultimately impacts his sell on fee anyway so you arent extracting maximum value. So I dont see it as he automaticaly results in decent money that we can reinvest, if the clubs underbid, which they will, how much does Ashton play hard ball on it, if Cook isnt that desperate to keep him ? | |
