Excellent post.

In addition to which - Leicester have a good owner & Chairman, are a Club with the kind of values we've always held dear ourselves, and whose place in the Prem we should be aspiring to emulate - we did get to 5th in the Prem 20 years ago after all, even if times have changed.

Just thinking exactly the same. What a fantastic model of a club. Chuffed for them.

They are indeed. I’m pleased for them. It shows what can be done if you do things in the right way, as Leicester’s owners obviously have.

I was watching Vardy. He didn’t get a lot of change out of the Chelsea defence, but he worked them to death from first to last. They never had a moments peace. He got to the PL at the age of 27. He’s 34 now and what a career he’s had. There will be no regrets when he hangs up his boots

That squad is amazing.

Tielemans, Barnes, Fofana, Thomas, Maddison and that just the young players.

Wasn’t all that long ago there wasnt much between us. Couldn’t have ended up in more separate situations. All about the style of ownership IMO.

All the Leicester players interviewed demonstrated obvious loyalty, passion and respect for their club, the fans and their owner. When did we last see that from our players? ME sure never commanded that sort of respect. I am really hopeful that our new owners have what it takes to regenerate that kind of mutual respect.

Cook is right to open the door to all our current players whom I think are indelibly tainted by the negativity of the last thirteen years.

Yep.Agree. Had a tear in the eyes watching football players who really had belief & respect in their club & gave everything for the cause. Reminded me of us in 78, very similar.

It is what we should aspire to. We are similar sized clubs, their ground is give or take a thousand the same size as ours. They were in the same division we are a decade or so ago.

I remember the night of that awful helicopter crash at the King Power and a lot of fans from other clubs went on to their forum and left kind messages. I had a mooch around their forum pre the crash and it was striking how much they loved their owners, seemed to be doing everything right. Everybody was as one behind the team.

That's what we need to get back, that wide-eyed hope you had as a kid. As a fanbase we've become so cynical and jaded and understandably so given the last few years.

We seem to be moving in the right direction since the takeover in terms of getting the club set up properly so here's hoping.
