This is something that annoys me as a veggie. Vegan cheese is by and large rank and I love a good veggie burger however I'm put off eating out at restaurants when your only option is a jackfruit burger with "sheese". A few years ago I'd be choosing from a couple of veggie options and a vegan option but it's not the case now

Agreed.

Cheese is the only thing that stops me going full on vegan. I've found a decent one for home use but I'd rather go without whilst dining out, it's not worth it...

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

That was quite a long article that ultimately seemed to conclude it's a bit of a non-issue.

What a pointless sh1te article. It seems restaurants are going out of their way to make things vegan which taste like the non vegan versions and The Guardian has made a story out of a few people getting upset that it doesn't include dairy. If it tastes the same and using dairy would just be ticking abox then why bother?

This quote is telling:

Every time the chefs crack the [vegan] code on creme brulee, meringue, cream sauces, there’s a cheer.”

Th e future is vegan. I have a go to vegan replacement for virtually everything I eat now. As you tick each box of finding an excellent replacement there seems very little point in keep buying the non vegan version.

Truly impaired.
