Perhaps that we're looking to sign players who want to be part of an Ipswich Town project going forwards, who want to stay with the club and help it rise through the divisions. Not seeing us as just a shop window where they can continually flirt with other suitors, look for transfer opportunities and try to force them through. |
I think those days have sadly gone, agents have seen to this, just go to where the biggest buck is, they know their career is short...it works both ways and they know it, if they aren't good enough they'll be moved on pretty quickly, there is no loyalty at all, from either side.. |  | | |

Don’t come here with an ego and wait to be picked up by a big club. If you have talent and are prepared to work hard and achieve something with us then we won’t stand in your way IF the big move comes along, equally the message is also to big clubs if we have talent and you want it you will pay top money for it. I read it as he is looking for players who buy into the project and see here as a place to improve and rise up through the divisions (and hence increase earnings but with us). I would still see the potential for player sales for good fees but with the aim being to replace if we do. I actually think, failing to sell in recent years has generally proven poor decisions for the club as well as the players concerned. |  |
