It is more for the view and other reasons than the Fish and chips, but before a match at Portman Road I often find myself at the Butt and Oyster in Pinmill. Food is decent enough and they do a battered halloumi and chips as well.

Nice to know where to go when I’m in town, as I’m not local, so thank the Lord.

Butt and Oyster okay, but the best thing about it is the view over the estuary.

Park in their car park early doors, go for a walk through the woods along the river to work up and appetite.

Back for lunch, sink a few pints of Adnams and a fish and chips and then get the wife to drive you into town to drop you at the match.

That’s my normal Sat pre match.

Magic isn’t it? I have to drive 120 miles home so can’t have the same approach to beer, but you have described my perfect Saturday (assuming we win).
