Our transfer approach 10:07 - Jul 26 with 1232 views | portmanking | I'd wondered several weeks ago whether we were biding our time on the transfer deals involving actual fees. If we'd spunked a million on Edmundson or Chaplin in June it would've set a dangerous precedent for other clubs in negotiations with us. Now that we're inching closer to the start of the season, we can make our bold moves having kept our powder dry. I like it, I like it a lot!
Our transfer approach on 10:56 - Jul 26 with 1003 views | Keaneish | The strategic approach to deals this season has been exceptional - a clear plan executed brilliantly. Night and Day from the Evans era. Handling of the media, the PR, the targets, ambition of those targets and the execution to date have all been top notch. This is all pre data analysis implementation too. Cook said it would be an exciting summer and it has been.

Night and day, but cash flow is the key, isn't it? Even when your net spend isn't that high, not having incoming deals depending on outgoing business getting done just makes everything easier. 2018 makes a good comparison. Even putting aside the quality of our recruits, not having cash flow meant we couldn't conclude our recruitment until after we'd shifted Waghorn, which meant we had to give way on Waggy's fee and most of our key signings didn't show up until mid-August.
