Ah, you meant at the back. I agree. Donacien is an ample 5th choice - I think we’re a midfielder light so wouldn’t be surprised to see a CM who can operate at CB if called upon ala Crooks. |
The squad rules are a little more complex
Squad Lists
43.9.1 Clubs shall be permitted to name up to a maximum number of Players in their Squad
List based on the following provisions:
(a) in respect of Championship Clubs, 25 Players of which a minimum of 8 must be a Home Grown Player; and
(b) in respect of League One and Two Clubs 22 Players of which a minimum of 8 must be a Home Grown Player.
43.9.2 The following Players do not need to be included in the Squad List to be eligible to play in League Matches:
(a) in respect of Championship Clubs, any Under 21 Player (save for any Under 21 Player who is registered with the Club on a Temporary Loan Transfer); and
(b) in respect of League One Clubs and League Two Clubs:
(i) any Under 21 Players; and

I know Kenlock is widely regarded as surplus to requirements among fans, but he does seem to have not only been dropped, but rather thrown down hard by Cook. Do you know if there is any reason for this, or is it purely down to the fact that he's seen as not very good? |  |

Regarding this, it seems to have moved to 22 outfield players from the 20 initially announced. This from the regulations (home grown means come through the ranks at clubs in England or Wales):
