Why do you lot seem to blame Ashton for signing all the players your managers wanted? Not his fault they don’t all work out. He helped raise you lot from nothings to near somethings and developed Ashton Gate. |  | | |

Not sure why you can’t reply to that thread.
I went on the Only One Team in Bristol forum a lot when Ashton was being mentioned for a role here.
Made me quite negative to his appointment given the overwhelming option that he had damaged your club.
But so far he’s been a positive influence.
You have to remember we’ve had an awful owner and limp/weak/ineffective’CEOs’ through that decade.
Also that here Ashton is part of a team with Cook, O Leary, and the three American ‘owners’ (who are sports people),
Anothe factor is that our previous squad was completely defunct, and needed complete replacement.
Sadly it will be a miracle if we can get it to gel quick enough for auto promotion; with a real risk of failure given the scale of change.

I lived in Bristol for 6 years and the only decent Bristol fans were Rovers fans. City fans seem to think they should be in the Premiership, I guess a but like Ipswich fans. |  |
