Okay, I admit it. I said that Kevin Beattie would never be strong enough to take over from Derek Jefferson.

The first time I saw him play I said ‘that Muhren bloke, weak as sh£t. He will do nothing here’. Never wrong, me.

No OP, an interview doesn't mean we have the right manager in charge. Everyone said the same about Hurst and Lambert based on words spoken rather than actual performance.

To date he has overseen a terrible record in the third tier.

Our owners have delivered an unbelievable squad for this division. The title should be ours.

Not really
We've heard from ex players. Ex coaches. Current coaches. All have said the same about PC as a person and as a manager and his approach.

People always say to me recognise when I'm wrong etc.

But you never see these posters actually admit they were and half the stuff they posted was their own opinion rather than actual information.

I speak regularly with someone who used to play for Shamrock Rovers and when I mentioned that our new manager was Paul Cook his immediate response was “he’s a very good manager”.

OP:
What a guy. Very pleased we have been able to bring this player and this group together whatever their motivations for being at ITFC for this season. Next season is a whole new kettle of fish.

We needed ruthless. We got ruthless. We won’t always need ruthless on the level of this summer. We will always need wins. We needed players with real drive and ambition to kick start and propel us forwards. We have the right manager for this moment in time. Not all the players will see the ‘project’ through to its end.

In May we will know whether we have met the immediate promotion objective. We will be better placed to see whether we have the right manager, coaching team and players to meet the presumed objective in the next season.

Whilst on my mind:
Enough of all this - I have to have an in or out view on the manager in Oct, we need to get to a more stable place on managers for us to build performances and sequences of wins. Yes we need the motivator of competition for the players and yes the manager can’t be made to feel too ‘comfortable’ when not at the right end of the league but now this season is the time to support this group. Mark Aston, Tom Carroll have both asked for supports to get behind this club this season.

Supporters that want a Paul Cook manager out discussion this Oct either -
-Aren’t supporters at all, they are the enemy
-Have an ulterior motive or another agenda and should be classified customers (not supporters) !

OR

-Have patiently supported the current manager for a year or so but have not seen the level of progress required relative to the resources at the clubs disposal - clue - it can’t be this one yet!

Supporters support. Everyone else is pissing in from the outside!!!

Thanks
