Thought the same.
Would be good to see him come in, but I'm doubtful.

think he wants a no.1 job, and cook would probably want someone committed to the role.

would love it if they could sort something out; his defensive nous would be very useful even in the short-term

Would be nice, but probably more to do with the fact that there's not much going on at the moment and a nice warm afternoon at Playford Road is quite a nice way to spend on a Friday, followed by the pub obviously.

I think he wants to keep his options open but I would like him to sign on as assistant until the end of the season.
Potentially by the end of the season Richardson could be available if he hasn't got Wigan up.

He is doing himself any favours by staying out the game?

Granted he may not want to be an AM. But if the two have spoken and PC asked him to, imo he should do it.
At the moment he's an ex colchester manager who then walked out on a club after a month.

Never be afraid to share your thoughts.

I'd be happier with Cook being Mcgreal's assistant

I honestly think Cook is leaving that position open for Richardson if/when he gets sacked from Wigan. Personally I think it is more likely Richardson will leave for a team in a higher division.

I would be happy with this. Would also be happy for him to come here until a head coach job comes his way.

'Walked out' is a bit spiteful. The few players Swindon had for that month were not paid, and he was being asked to manage a squad that that did not exist. I reckon most of the football world views him as man of great dignity and integrity, and certainly not as someone who'd let down anyone worthwhile. I doubt any Swindon fan has a bad word to say about him.

I read or heard someplace he may have past contractual matters to resolve before taking up another permanent position. It might be a watch this space this one. If he was willing available it could make good sense even on a short term basis adding depth in the coaching ranks.

He’s currently at all our games, and is good mates with Cook so speaks regularly.

Whether on not he has anything official, I’m sure he is inputting currently to help Cook and the club

I think, even if he doesn’t want to take on a permanent role, we should at least be getting him in to run some sessions and work with the defence and defensive organisation of the team on a freelance basis. Great guy to have around the place and will plug the defensive coaching gap which seems to be lacking.
