Do sandwiches have to be bread with a butter or margarine layer between and then a filling? Because Battenberg is like a sandwich where the bread is replaced by marzipan, the butter by jam and the other filling by sponge cake. Already crisp sandwiches are looking like a poor contender...and I haven't even proffered the possibility that a Chicken and Mushroom pie could be a sandwich of pastry filled with, err, chicken and mushroom...and saucy gravy stuff. Do we have a winner? |  |
