A bit of talk about Downes being the only player to make a positive step up from last seasons squad.
Just seen that Bennetts has been on the bench for most of the season - in the Bundesliga.
Fair few minutes too. Seemed to need a lot of coaching from the sidelines last year, made good progress this season clearly.

To be fair he’s very lucky to have got a second chance with Gladbach.
It’s only because they got a new coach.
I watch a lot of German football and while he has made a few sub appearances this season, he hasn’t done anything of note.
I don’t think he will be there next summer unless something truly clicks.
He just doesn’t look like he’ll make an impact at that level.
