Tony Blackburn is probably top of my list of "irritating DJs".
Along with Norman Jay, Colin Curtis, Ian Levine and Ian Hill, Tony Blackburn was one of the most influential soul DJ's of the 70's and 80's. Introducing a lot of black American and UK artists who weren't being played on mainstream radio.

He was, but the direction of his career meant that it wasn’t recognised. I remember hearing the Lenny Gamble track and not knowing till someone told me it was him! However the Toe-Knee Blackburn song is best left alone!
