I've just been watching a replay of his great match in the Australian Open final against Rafa Nadal a few years back. 5 hours of a Serb warrior giving everything for victory.
What a man, he will go down as one of the top three players to have played the game in my opinion, if not the greatest. To boot, he dislikes communism with a passion. A very nice guy as well.
When I watched the 2013 Wimbledon final I was championing Andy Murray. Strange how life works, now I wish Djokovic had triumphed in some ways, although he has 19 majors to Murray's three.

I think his greatest problem is that he wants to be loved by tennis fans worldwide, and despite the fact that I agree with you that he is a good human being, he is not widely loved. |
This is true, he thinks his tennis should be enough to earn the adulation of the crowd but it'd not. It's enough to earn respect but not adulation.
As a player he may well go down as the GOAT based purely on numbers. For me thats Fed because I think at his best he beats any player from any era on any surface at their best apart Rafa and Novak on clay (maybe a couple of other clay court specialists).
None the less Novak is one of the best ever, really only he Roger and Rafa are in that conversation now. He is an incredible athlete and plays wonderful tennis. I've never really taken a dislike to him.
Crowds don't take to him becsues he's not Roger or Rafa who exhibit a bit more finesse, maybe he even suffers from making it look too easy. There is a reason tbe crowd loved Cantona more than David Batty and if Novak could harness that and take on a me vs everyone mentality, no one likes me and I don't care I think he'd have won even more.
His anti vax theories are just stupid though.

Federer & Nadal are class on and off court (generally speaking, no one is perfect) whereas Djokovic is mostly a large c**k on and off court. Top 3 of all time players, not even top 100 as a person. |  | | |
