He hasn't got a cat in hells chance of getting the job.

He's doing well at Chesterfield, I know him fairly well as we played together previously, but he is so far away from the profile of manager that our owners will be looking for.

I think you’re right in that he won’t get a sniff at the job but his background is varied and interesting. And again, how complicated or difficult does football in L1 need to be? Obviously we make REALLY hard work of it, but it doesn’t need to be so exhausting.

He’s not Duncan’s love child is he?? One ex-Chesterfield is enough!

We've had two ex-Chesterfield managers, Duncan and the one who's just gone.

Oh don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be averse at all to giving someone the chance to step up, although a huge step it is. At our level we've got some relatively big names at the club, and I would wonder if they're more likely to react to a bigger name themselves, in the short term at least. I just can't see our owners going down the route of hiring James Rowe, not in a month of Sundays.

Lifted from Wikipedia so don't not want this amounts to but doesn't sound great "In 2015, Rowe left West Ham following numerous complaints of impropriety in relation to young players in the Academy. Rowe was dismissed and was subject to a ban from the FA, leaving for that period to Holland,[21] to attend the Johan Cruyff Institute in Amsterdam, where he earned a masters degree in coaching."

Having had a Google it looks like it was this https://www.claretandhugh.info/academy-coach-disciplined-following-complaints/

And what is that profile?

They'll either go for a name, someone who can get Morsy all starry eyed a la Lampard / Terry type, or they'll go for someone who has demonstrated they've operated at a higher level before, perhaps Lennon, maybe Harris.

I can't see any way that they'll go for James Rowe or someone of his ilk. I would include Manning or Bircham in that too. Let's see what develops over the next week or so but I make them very unlikely candidates.

To be fair to him he has done a great job at Chesterfield, he has really turned them around after the last few years when they have been diabolical. Not sure the players would respond to him though, probably too big of a jump.
